Welcome to...
The Piano Maestro Performing Arts Academy

Inspiring Every Child to Excellence

We are a hybrid school that combines traditional learning with elements of Montessori education and the musical skills acquisition of a performing arts academy. We set up individualised learning plans for each of our students upon entry, helping our students to select a musical instrument that suits their abilities and temperament, in addition to developing an academic program to help them achieve academic excellence.

Academic excellence is a priority for us, and we maintain a small teacher to student ratio (less than 10:1) to ensure that each child achieves his maximum potential. For those families who wish to enrol their child in our Honours Program, a placement examination is required, with students who are offered a Probationary Entrance into the Honours Program being expected to enrol in our after-school Academic Support Program until they have secured a Permanent Honours Program Placement.

Students are nurtured to their full potential in a supportive, caring environment. Not only do we offer our staff regular trainings, but Ms. Janique White-Agbebaku, an education and SEN specialist gives our teachers regular professional development trainings, as expected in an international educational organisation. These trainings cover such topics as curriculum content and implementation, classroom management techniques, as well as teacher behaviour policies.

We invest in our facilities, and currently boast of a solar-powered alternative electricity supply which provides our school community with a nearly uninterrupted power supply, a high-speed Starlink satellite unit which provides our teachers and students with first-rate internet connectivity, and a well-maintained facility. Additionally, we are conveniently located inside a walled, gated estate which has 24 hr security, with a police post located in the near vicinity, ensuring that our facilities provide the necessary protection to keep our students secure.

Academic Programs

We currently offer studies at the PreK, Elementary and Middle School level, with plans to develop a High School Program in the near future. In addition to the CORE subjects (ELA, Math, Science, History & Geography), we offer our students French, Music, Art and PE classes. Students also regularly participate in Drama productions as part of their classroom experience

Our PreK program consists of a blend of Jolly Phonics (ELA), Core Knowledge (Science/History) and Eureka Math, which students learn

through a variety of sensory activities.

Music classes happen twice a week,

while they learn in French three times

each week. Storytime and Art are

incorporated into every subject area and

                           occur daily.

Elementary and Middle School follow the Core Knowledge curriculum for ELA, Science and History, which is a cross-curricular program designed by the Gates Foundation to prepare students for AP courses at the High School Level. As the Core Knowledge Mathematics Curriculum is still in the development stage, we continue to use Eureka Math, as developed for the NYSDE (Engage NY) for all Grade Levels.

For each of the subjects, students are issued readers and workbooks, with devices being used for the purpose of extended research only, to minimise classroom distractions.

Elementary and Middle School students are also enrolled in 3 weekly music lessons as part of their tuition, with Middle School students expected to participate in one of the musical ensembles available - currently Choir, Drumline and Orchestra.
